Where I Also Sell My Work

My name is Charlie I’m a retired engineer, I live in County Durham in the North East of England. I’ve long been interested in woodworking as a hobby and over the years built up a workshop of the right tools and several large saws. As I had made just about everything for our house I started to concentrate on unique and unusual  jewellry and trinket boxes, decorative wall plaques and Word art all are handmade to order always spurred on by my wife’s appreciation and enthusiasm. Then things took a turn, at a community meeting a young lady came and made a case for funds for a local cooperative of crafters shop and their “Christmas community initiative”. Afterwards I showed her some of my work and was flattered when she asked me to join this cooperative of local artists and crafters, it coincided with my upcoming retirement and gave me an outlet for my work.

At this point I stepped up my output and increased my range, I’ve always tried wherever to recycle salvaged timber I have a conscience about what we’re doing to the trees of the world. Unfortunately I cannot wait for wood to turn up for me to recycle, so I have to buy new and “second hand” timber now and laminate it . Wherever I can I make smaller Items from the offcuts when making bigger items, when it’s too small or unworkable it goes in the log store for my wood burner! Having read all of this I hope you'll have time now to look at my work.
